How does Kamagra Oral Jelly 100 mg Work

Sildenafil citrate, the active ingredient, is essentially a selective inhibitor of the cyclic guanosine monophosphate (cGMP)-specific PDE-5 enzyme. cGMP is required to cause proper blood flow in the penile muscles but the PDE-5 enzyme disintegrates it. Recommended Dosage

The usual suggested dose is 1 jelly per day, to be taken 30-60 minutes before having sexual intercourse. Just put it in your mouth and chew, it will dissolve. Unlike a tablet which you have to swallow with water. It should not be taken more than 4 hours before having sex because its effects will fade off by then. One may take it on an empty stomach or after having a meal. However, it works faster when taken without food. And if you must have food, take care that it should be low in fat content as fat reduces the efficacy of Kamagra. Know that the exact time of the medicine showing its effect will depend on the individual’s body metabolism and tolerance level. It generally remains effective for 4 to 6 hours.

If you intend to take it for an extended period, consulting a doctor is advisable so as to know the suitable dose. But in any case, more than 1 jelly per 24 hours should not be consumed.

Missed Dosage

If you take it only when needed, there are fewer chances of you missing a dose. But if it’s a regular prescription medicine for you and you have missed a dose, you take it as soon as you remember. Overdose

Side Effects of Kamagra Oral Jelly 100 mg

In case of an overdose, or an allergic reaction, the following symptoms may be looked for-

• Hot flushes
• Headache
• Dizziness
• Nausea
• Abnormal vision
• Nosebleed
• Diarrhea

These effects should go away on their own within some time. Other, more rare side effects include- priapism, chest pain, troubled breathing, palpitations, Sudden loss of eye vision (Non-arteritic Anterior Ischemic Optic Neuropathy-NAION), etc. Visit a doctor immediately if you observe any of these symptoms.

Interaction With Other Drugs

Kamagra can interact with quite a few medicines, so it is important to consult your doctor before using it.

• Cimetidine
• Ritonavir and other HIV Protease inhibitors
• Erythromycin
• Nitroglycerin
• Anticoagulants like warfarin
• Efavirenz
• Isosorbide mononitrate and isosorbide dinitrate
• Beta-blockers like atenolol
• Alpha-blockers like alfuzosin and doxazosin
• Any other medication for erectile dysfunction

You should let your doctor know about any other prescription or OTC drugs you take because the above list isn’t an exhaustive one.

Interaction With Alcohol

Consuming alcohol with this medicine may lead to an increase in the intensity of its side effects. It may cause the blood pressure to drop suddenly. Hence, it is advisable to not consume alcohol while under the effect of Kamagra jelly.

Interaction with grapefruit juice

An enzyme present in the grapefruit breaks down the sildenafil citrate molecules and makes the drug less effective. It increases the drug’s bioavailability and delays its absorption by the body. So, avoid taking grapefruit juice with Kamagra oral jelly 100 mg.

Storage Instructions

Store the jellies in their original package in a dry place.

1. Store them at room temperature, in the absence of direct sunlight and moisture.
2. Keep them away from the reach of children and pets.
3. If the package has expired, do not consume the jellies.
4. The discarded package or expired jellies should be properly disposed of and not flushed in the toilet.
